How to Make Blueberry Pie
- Prepare the crust first. It may be made from scratch using flour and butter or purchased ready-made.
- Fill the crust with a mixture of blueberries, sugar and cinnamon, or with a can of ready-made blueberry pie filling.
- At this point, the lattice top may be created and placed on top. To create the crust, roll out the remaining dough, cut into strips and place them on top of the pie horizontally and vertically.
- Brushing the top of the crust with a mixture of egg whites and milk will give it a crispy texture and glazed look.
- Bake the pie until crust is cooked and pie filling is bubbling.
- Cool prior to serving.

Martha Stewart: Blueberry Pie
If you prefer to make an extra-wide lattice-top crust for this pie, roll out dough to 1/8 inch thick, and cut four 3-inch-wide strips. Chill the strips until firm. Weave the strips over the filling, and seal the lattice to the bottom crust with a mixture of egg and milk.marthastewart.com -
