Blue Mars is a massively multiplayer game that will take the user into an expansive virtual world. Unlike some other popular MMO's like World of Warcraft, the player can build an environment all their own.

Beyond the casual virtual world explorer and digital content creator market, Blue Mars is marketed to the new generation of game designers who want a ready made platform from which they can craft a game. Since the software sports a CryEngine 2 game engine, it will more than fit the bill.

At the moment, the software is in beta.

December 17, 2009: Massively.com reports that the owner of Caledon, a popular Steampunk roleplay community on Second Life, will open a virtual world on Blue Mars called Caledonia. Virtual Space Entertainment is collaborating with the Smithsonian Museum to create entertaining science exploration exhibits and games in Blue Mars. By 2015, VSE projects they will make $900 million with this project.
