"Blue Collar Brawlin'" is the name of two cage-fighting events which took place in early June, 2008, in Texarkana and Fort Smith, Arkansas. During one of the fights, two of the fighters reportedly began rubbing and kissing each other. The events are believed to have been staged to appear in the 2009 Sacha Baron Cohen film Bruno. The Smoking Gun: "Bruno" Pranks It Up (July 8, 2008)
The Character of Bruno
Bruno is one of three major characters popularized by Sacha Baron Cohen on Da Ali G Show. Cohen plays Bruno as a flamboyantly gay Austrian television commentator. In June, 2008, Cohen tricked former Mossad agent Yossi Alpher into sitting for an interview in which Bruno confused hummus with Hamas and asked Alpher why the Jews refused to return the pyramids. The Jewish Daily Forward: What Kind of Interviewer Confuses Hamas and Hummus?
