  • About the Game

Blood Bowl is a video game adaptation of the Games Workshop tabletop boardgame created in 1987 by Jervis Johnson. The game, a parody of American football, is set in a universe similar to that of the Warhammer series, with races such as orcs, dwarfs, lizardmen and goblins.

In 1995, a Blood Bowl turn-based strategy was developed by MicroLeague for the PC in 1995. In 2004, French game developer Cyanide created the game Chaos League, which quickly led to a lawsuit do to that game's resemblance to Blood Bowl. The out-of-court settlement resulted in Cyanide receiving a license to develop an official Blood Bowl game, which will not be a port of the previous title.GameSpot: Cyanide now plays in Blood Bowl (June 27, 2006)
