The song "Blackbird" was written by Paul McCartney in 1968 and originally appeared on The Beatles self-titled album, often referred to asThe White Album.

Synopsis

McCartney has stated that "Blackbird" was inspired by the Johann Sebastian Bach composition Bouree in E minor. In recent years, McCartney has explained the lyrics are about the civil rights struggle that was raging at the time the song was written.
