The BlackBerry Watch is designed to allow BlackBerry users to keep up to date on their BlackBerry activity without getting their phone out. It is similar to the SPOT Watch, however, there is no subscription service for the BlackBerry Watch, as it works via Bluetooth technology. The BlackBerry Watch can only be used for viewing the data received on the BlackBerry it is paired with.
October 26: the first BlackBerry Watch officially announced. It is a third party device called the inPulse Smartwatch for BlackBerry Smartphones.
Some people are looking this up as the "impulse smart watch" or "inpulse watch" instead of the correct inPulse Smartwatch.
History
The BlackBerry Watch is a new device, but is similar to the SPOT Watch, which also gave remote accessibility for a phone. One of the main differences between the two is the lack of a separate subscription in the case of the BlackBerry Watch. The SPOT Watch required a monthly subscription in addition to the watch itself. With the bluetooth accessiblity, the BlackBerry Watch does away with the extra cost.http://blogs.zdnet.com/cell-phones/?p=2348&tag=col1;post-8953
