There has been conflicting stories about the official release date of the blackBerry Essex, but the most sold rumor, on the Internet is that the new phone is expected to be released in the late Spring or early Summer of 2010. There are other reports that state, the new BlackBerry will not be released until much later in the year.

Research in Motion, which is the maker of the Blackberry, has just announced a brand new device which is set to be the successor to the popular, Blackberry Tour. The device is currently code named the Blackberry Essex and ultimately will be known as the Blackberry Tour 2. The new iteration of the device touts a trackpad/touchpad in place of the old trackball solution. The ESSEX will also be one of the first Blackberry devices offered by Verizon Wireless with wireless networking enabled (wi-fi); something that is generally disabled. This device is sure to make an appearance soon on both the Sprint and Verizon wireless networks.
