Black Snake Moan

  • Black Snake Moan is a 2007 film starring Samuel L. Jackson and Christina Ricci. The story revolves around these two main characters as Lazarus (Jackson) and Rai (Ricci) and is losely based on the 1861 novel Sila Marner. Lazarus, a deeply spiritual and religious man finds Rai injured on the side of the road and brings her to his home. His hope is he can save her from her sinful ways, Rae suffers from what appears to be nymphomania. The film received mixed reviews and some criticism of for it's portrayal of sexual violence.
