Black Knight is an American comedy film by Gil Junger and starring comedian Martin Lawrence about a theme park employee who is magically transported back in time to the medieval era, where he is embroiled in a plot to overthrow a wicked king.
A DVD Success
Black Knight is one of many loose adaptations of Mark Twain's A Connecticut Yankee In King Arthur's Court. In this case, the similarity extends no further than the conceit of a man from the modern era transported to the Age of Chivalry. Despite very poor performance during Black Knight's initial theatrical run, the film earned back its budget with a successful DVD release.
