Bjorn Borg is a retired professional tennis player. A strong baseline player, Borg's career included five straight wins at Wimbledon from 1976-1980 and six French Open victories.
Career Highlights
After receiving his first tennis racquet at a young age, Bjorn Borg began playing tennis full time and by the age of 13 was beating the best under-18 players in Sweden. A baseline player, Borg made it to Wimbledon in 1976 and won on the grass courts for five consecutive years. His fifth win was over John McEnroe after a grueling 34-point tiebreaker. In 1981, Borg won his sixth French Open title, but faced defeat at the U.S. Open against McEnroe. That match ultimately ended Borg's career. With 62 singles titles to his name, Borg retired at the age of 26.Tennis Hall of Fame: Bjorn Rune Borg
