Papa John's National Football League Sponsorship Deal
As shown in a "Toppings for Touchdowns" promotional offer, Papa John's Pizza entered into a sponsorship agreement with the National Football League in early 2010. The company made the decision to stick with the NFL exclusively and decline to renew their sponsorship of the PapaJohns.com Bowl starting in the 2010-11 NCAA Football season. That left the bowl game without a main sponsor, reverting the name back to the Birmingham Bowl and leaving the future of the game in question.
