Birgitte Silverbow is a character in the Wheel of Time series of fantasy novels written by the late Robert Jordan. A hero of the Horn of Valere, she usually resides in Tel'aran'rhiod until The Pattern spins her out into the world. She was ripped out of the dream world and thrown bodily into the waking world by Moghedien when she tried to help Elayne Trakand and Nynaeve al'Meara fight Moghedien. This would have killed Birgitte Silverbow if Elayne Trakand had not bonded Birgitte Silverbow as a warder.

Mythology Connection
On purpose, Robert Jordan bases many of his characters on real life myths and legends, because our age is one of the ages in his Wheel of Time. Birgitte Silverbow is based loosely on Brigit or Brighid of Irish mythology. Saint Brigid is the Catholic version of this goddess. The Haitian (French) version is Maman Brigitte.
