Brief Background
Bipasha Basu was born in Delhi, India, but her family moved to the city of Kolkata when she was still in her youth.She had originally intended to pursue being a doctor or chartered account but was persuaded by a friend to enter into a model contest which she won. After winning the contest, she embarked on a career in modeling.
She appeared in her first film Ajnabee in 2001, but it was her appearance in 2003's Jism that made audiences take notice of her. Since then she has been working steadily in Bollywood films.
