On April 9, 2009 a trailer for the upcoming first-person shooter BioShock 2 was released. The video shows clips of gameplay with very little context surrounding them. The game is scheduled to be released sometimes in the 4th quarter of 2009.Kotaku: BioShock 2 Gameplay Footage (April 9, 2009)

Similarities to the first game
Although the debut video is rather short, there are still several elements that appear to be returning from the previous title.The player character makes use of both weapons and plasmids in the video. The Telekinesis and Incinerate plasmids appear to be making a return as shown.
Additionally, the player's default weapon appears to be the same giant drill that the Big Daddies used in the original BioShock, but he also makes use of what appears to be a shotgun-like weapon.
However, a key difference in the combat shown is that the player now has both a plasmid and a weapon equipped at the same time, where in the first game the player only had one visible weapon on-screen at any given time.
