Students from Rice University are planning to brew a beer from yeast genetically engineered to produce resveratrol, a chemical believed to reduce the chance of heart disease and cancer.
The effort is to be an entry in International Genetically Engineered Machine, a synthetic biology competition held in Cambridge, Massachusetts on November 8, 2008
