Billy Bragg is an English folk singer/songwriter known for strong political themes. After a brief time as a member of a punk rock band and a more brief time in the military, Billy Bragg hit his stride as a performer busking on the streets of London.
His subject matter tends to politics and relationships, and in the 1980s Billy Bragg was considered a prominent voice for the Labour Party, often appearing at union rallies. He collaborated with the American band Wilco for two albums of Woody Guthrie covers, and continues to write and perform.
