British actress and singer Billie Piper currently stars in Showtime's TV series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Piper rose to fame as a teen pop star with her 1998 single "Because We Want To." She achieved wild acclaim in BritainTelegraph: Why we fell under Piper's spell (November 5, 2005) for her role as the companion Rose in Doctor Who.

In her autobiography Growing Pains, Piper detailed her battle with anorexia at the age of 16. She reported that she took laxatives, and even tried to eat tissues to control her hunger. According to Piper, she became briefly anorexic again when her marriage broke up, but has since recovered from the disorder.
