Life and Career
William Sanford Nye was born in Washington, D.C. on November 27, 1955. As Nye grew up, he states he became increasingly fascinated with how things in the world worked. He graduated and then moved to Seattle to join Boeing as an engineer. While there, Nye created the hydraulic resonance suppressor “Quinke” tube for 747 planes - a component which helped to stabilize each aircraft.
