Bill Nighy is a British stage and film actor who has appeared in Love Actually, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Career Highlights
Nighy began his career working in theatre and television. He was cast in the movie Underworld and it's sequal, Underworld: Evolution, as Vampire Elder Viktor in 2003. In 2004, he was given the BAFTA Film award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Love Actually. He also appeared in the zombie comedy Shaun of the Dead the same year. In 2005, Nighy appeared in the movie version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
One of Nighy's most famous roles was in the Pirates of the Caribbean sequals. Nighy played Davey Jones, the main antagonist of the film.
Nighy's next projects include a reprising of his role for "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans", which began filming in 2008. He is also first up for the part of Minister for Magic Rufus Scrimgeour in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and appears in the Tom Cruise film Valkyrie.
