Jennifer Butler Murray filed for a divorce on May 12, 2008 in Charleston County, South Carolina with the claims that actor husband Bill Murray was abusive, addicted to drugs, adulterous and frequently abandoned her during their 10 year marriage.

The marital agreement signed by Bill Murray and Jennifer Butler states that "Each party will waive his or her rights to receive maintenance, support or alimony from the other party.

It however, doesn't constitute a waiver of either parties' rights to share in the estate."
