Bill Kristol is a Republican pundit, commentator and editor of The Weekly Standard and former New York Times columnist. In addition, Kristol also served as a foreign policy adviser to John McCain during McCain's 2008 presidential campaign. Kristol was the Chief of Staff for both Vice President Dan Quayle and Secretary of Education William Bennett.
On January 25, 2009, Kristol's final op-ed column appeared in The New York Times. At the end of the column was a note to readers: "This is William Kristol's last column."
