  • Bill Hicks was a controversial stand-up comedian whose black humor, social criticism and biting satire made him one of the most thought-provoking and well-respected comedians of the late 20th century. Hicks passed away from pancreatic cancer in 1994 at the age of 32.

    Hicks appeared on David Letterman's late night talk-show programs a total of twelve times, the last of which was originally cut from the program.
