Arkansas Democratic Party chairman Bill Gwatney died in Little Rock, Arkansas, on August 13, 2008 after being shot three times at the Arkansas Democratic Party headquarters earlier that day. The suspect, who reportedly fired three shots before fleeing the scene, was later captured and fatally shot by police.
