Big Daddy Kane is a well known record producer and rapper known both in the music underground and the mainstream. Kane personified the "player" stadard and was considered the ultimate lover man of rap's first decade. He is one of pioneering contributers of the early Hip-Hop era.

Background
Heavily influenced by Grandmaster Caz, Kane honed his fast flow and prodigious rhyming technique through numerous freestyle battles. In 1984 Kane met and befriended fellow rapper Biz Markie and the two went on to become part of Marley Marl's legendary "Juice Crew." Kane was responsible for creating the archetype that would be co-opted by the many rapper including such legends as Jay-Z and The Notorious B.I.G. -
