How It Works
A set number of contestants are invited to live in a house with no outside contact with the world. They compete for the title of Head of Household (Hoh) in competitions, the HoH then nominates two of their fellow cast members for eviction. There is a Power of Veto competition each week, allowing a change of one nomination if the winner chooses. The Head of Household nominates a replacement candidate if one is taken off the block using the Power of Veto. Guests are eliminated from the house each week by a vote of the houseguests. When two houseguests remain, the previously evicted houseguests vote for who wins the grand prize of $500,000 and second place prize of $50,000.
