  • Big Brother is a CBS reality television show. This season features people from 22 to 75 years-of-age. It is the first time since season three that all the house guests do not know each other prior to the start of the game.

On the September 16, 2008, finale show, Dan Gheesling, a school teacher from Michigan won the $500,000 grand prize with a vote of seven to zero.

  • How It Works

Contestants are invited to live in a house with no outside contact with the world. They compete for the title of Head of Household in competitions and the winner will nominate two of their fellow cast members for eviction. The Power of Veto competition is held each week. This prize allows one nominee to be taken off the nomination block. The Head of Household will nominate a replacement if a candidate is taken off the block. Guests are eliminated from the house each week by a vote of the houseguests. When two houseguests remain, the previously evicted houseguests vote for who wins the grand prize of $500,000.
  • The House

The bedrooms are themed by room to reflect different decades from the 1950s to the 1980s. The community bathroom is decorated in the style of the Old West. The kitchen is decorated in a 1950s theme.
