  • Career

    Originally a collaboration between Mick Jones and director Don Letts, Big Audio Dynamite incorporated a cross-genre sound with samples from classic Western and Film Noir movies -- a technique that would become be adopted by future hip-hop and rap artists. Jones' former Clash bandmate Joe Strummer contributed songwriting and production to the band. Big Audio Dynamite went through a number of line-up and name changes -- the band was also known as Big Audio Dynamite II, Big Audio, and BAD.
