Preparation - Mission 1
- Run out and start pushing the generator. Pey'j helps in a moment. Just push it to the end.
- Grab the turbo boosts and repair pods off the desk, then jump into the hovercraft.
- GameAnyone: Beyond Good and Evil - Walkthrough 03/33 (Time: 9:57)
- Drive straight forward to the Mammago Garage. It's the smoking building up ahead.
- The hovercraft breaks down halfway there, but you'll get a tow for the rest of the way.
- Go to the right and inside the building. Talk to the mechanic and buy a speedcraft motor from the machine.
- Tip: The rhinos count as another species, so take a picture of them.
- Tip: Use some of your photo money to buy a Mecha-Impulser now. Feel free to buy another one from the vending machine in back.
- Leave the garage and get ready for another fight.
Serpent Battle
- Time to kill the sea serpent. Wait a few moments and try to line up a good shot with your camera. A picture is worth 2,000 credits, and it will be awhile before you get another chance to take it.
- Then, just get used to hovercraft combat. The monster isn't attacking you too much. It's mainly attacking the fishermen in the harbor while making attack runs at you.
- Just stay behind him and keep firing. Watch out for the mines he tosses. Just shoot them or avoid them. The only other attack is a green laser attack from the front, but it's a non-issue if you can avoid frontal assaults.
- Once it's dead, grab the pearl.
Extra Prep - Mission 1
- Pey'j points out the scorpion fish near the pearl. Just line up a picture and take it when they jump out of the water.
- Turn to the right and head into the main canal in the city. Look for the one unblocked passage to enter the pedestrian district.
- On this level, just focus on taking pictures of the walrus walking around and the bird-man running the newsstand.
- This is just a good time to get your bearings. You'll be back to this area for a lot of future adventures.
- You can subscribe to the two newspapers for some funny insights into the game world.
- Walk past the bar and go to Nouri's stand. She has a pearl and a PA now. You don't need the pearl right now. The PA is useful though. Buy it for 1,500 credits.
- Walk into the bar now. Take a picture of the bartender and one of the sharks.
- Note: If you're good at shell games, Peepers runs an honest one up top. It's easy money if you have good eyes.
- Rufus's Bounty
- Rufus is the shark in the corner. He has a locked stash in room 2 on the upper level. The code is written on the table, but he covers it up if you get close.
- Just use the zoom on the camera to read the code. It will be specific to your game though. Different people have different codes. Go upstairs and use the keypad to enter the code and validate it.
- Loot the room for a pearl and some boost capsules.
- Francis' Game
- Francis has a game you can play now for a pearl. It's basically just modified air hockey. You have to get your four pallets across the middle "battlefield" area while keeping his out.
- There is no secret to this game. Just keep playing and do practice matches. It's just about being accurate and quick with your ricochet shots.
- When you're ready, bet 1,000 credits to win the pearl.
- Wrapup
- This is about it for the main exploration. There are other things you can do outside the city, but you should probably just wait until you're better versed in combat.
Black Isle
- Just travel to the big island and go through the entrance hole.
- If you're lost, just look at the compass for directions.
- Once you're inside, dock and talk to the man in the suit. You basically just have to get to the back and take some pictures. Well...it sounds easy.
- Go to the left now. Stand on one of the arrow platforms and press E to have Pey'j jump onto the other.
- Walk ahead and go into the next room. Take a picture of the fly buzzing around here. Then walk up to the broken ladder to have Pey'j explain his "special" boots.
- They don't work (big surprise) and you have to figure out another way. Look at the little machine with the buttons.
- Stand on the depressed one and press E to have Pey'j do his super-jump onto the raise button and launch you into the air.
- Grab the ledge and climb up. Then use the gear on the bridge to lower the two ramps.
- Walk down and take a picture of the orange balloon and a picture of the evacuation map. This gives a full map of the area.
- Your next goal is to clear the boxes. These little balloons are infinite sources of explosives though.
- Have Pey'j do a jump and then hit the balloon in the direction you want it to go. Jade enters a bullet time mode to ensure proper timing.
- Blow up the fireworks in front of you and the fireworks to the right. This will reveal the path ahead and a secret room to the right with Starkos and Boosts.
- Take a picture of the purple anemone and then attack the stalk for some materia crystals. These are basically free credits, so enjoy.
- GameAnyone: Beyond Good and Evil - Walkthrough 04/33 (Time: 9:56)
- Go forward and let Pey'j point out the rusted grate. You need to find a good wrench.
- Look to the right and use the explosive anemone to knock down the ramp and blow up the materia crystals on the right.
- Go up the ramp and watch the crochax attack.
- Note: You are too close for any pictures right now. Just attack it quickly and kill it.
- Move forward and push the coal cart to the end of the track. Then turn the gear to drop the ramp. Climb up your new ramp to reach the secondary shaft.
- Secondary Shaft
- Time for another fight. Stop and let Pey'j hold them off for a minute. Then take pictures of both types of jellyfish and the crochax in the area. Snap a picture of the strange pipe-like creatures on the wall while you are at it.
- Time to fight. The jellies can be thrown in the air and used as explosives, just like the balloon fungi. There isn't anything to blow up here though, so just wade into the crowd swinging.
- The mutants just take a few hits too, although Pey'j can send them into the air too.
- The crochax are the only tough part. Just spread out your attacks to continuously stagger them. Go straight ahead once you're done. Trigger Pey'j to help you open the door.
- Kick open the lockers and make sure you give Pey'j the wrench. Grab the K-bups for yourself though.
- Then have him demonstrate it on the grate behind you. Walk out to the next part of the ancient mine.
- Note: You can choose to backtrack through the whole mine to get a PA now, but it seems like a waste of time. I suggest you wait to get it.
- Walk straight ahead and turn to the left. Take a picture of the giant squid/brain thing. Then go across it to watch a conch shell. When the little snail comes all the way out, take a picture.
- Jump onto the ledge to the right of the brain and leave the ancient mine for the secondary shaft again.
- Backtrack out. You'll probably be attacked by a few more jellyfish, but it shouldn't be a problem.
- Go to the grate that blocked your path earlier. Have Pey'j cut it down to open the path.
- Tip: Buy the PA from the vending machine.
- Move forward and cling to the wall to walk along the edge. Then jump up and position yourself by the exploding balloons.
- Pey'j's jump will still work from a distance. Use one to blow up the materia crystal to the left. Then go up and push the fireworks cart to the back of the track so you can have a line of sight on it. Use the exploding fungus to set it off.
- Pey'j crosses the ramp, but gets attacked by crochax. Help him out by attacking the three.
- The ramp open up a new area. Go into the area behind it and walk up to the fence. Take a picture of one of the amoeba.
- Then go up and use the little buttons again. Have Pey'j launch you up and then drop down.
- Kick the power box by the wall and look up. There's a creature that will only come out if the lights are off. Look up for the glowing amoeba and snap a shot.
- Press the button to open the gate up for Pey'j. He can open the grate at the back.
- Note: This is a good spot to save at the M-reader.
- GameAnyone: Beyond Good and Evil - Walkthrough 05/33 (Time: 9:56)
- Time for another fight. Drop down to get attacked by some big Palinuruses. The only way to kill these blue bugs is by having Pey'j do his super-jump. Then knock them off into a wall. A few quick attacks will finish them off. You can also knock them off the platform.
- Tip: If you're a good shot, knock them into the purple crystals for extra credits.
- Take out about 6 of them along the course to finish the combat.
- Tip: Try to take a picture of one of them while they are at a distance.
- Note: They do respawn if you leave.
- Tip: Try to knock one into the ramp to gain access to another materia crystal and a final save point.
- Jump up to the platform above. Stock up on K-bups now.
- Turn around and take a picture of the conch shells flying around the area.
- Then fight through the purple anemones until you get to the big one at the end. Hit it a few times and have Pey'j jump on it.
- Go past it to reach the final area with the boss fight. Cross the little "bridge" and look to the right at the bobbing DomZ. Wait until they're both up and snap a picture. It isn't too happy about this though.
Pterolimax Fight
- This isn't too tough.
- As soon as it pops up, snap a picture of the monster for a large payment from the science center. Then have Pey'j jump on it.
- Run up and get in as many quick attacks as possible.
- When it retreats, it will release a bunch of jellies. Just kill them off with quick attacks.
- It rises again out of one of the holes. Have Pey'j stagger it again and rush in for some attacks.
- It releases three crochax. Kill them off with the usual combos.
- It rises again. Stagger it and attack again. This time, it flies around and sprays a toxic attack from it's mouth onto the ground. Just run away from it in steady lines to avoid the attack.
- It should just repeat the toxic attack from now on. Just keep staggering it and avoiding the attacks. After a few more hits, it should die.
- Grab the pearl and watch the cutscenes. It seems that you've been recruited.
Roundup - Mission 1
- GameAnyone: Beyond Good and Evil - Walkthrough 06/33 (Time: 9:58)
- You end up at the start. I suggest you go forward and collect the last bonus in the cave now that Pey'j has a good wrench.
- Note: Save at the top of the docks. You don't want to repeat the boss fight.
- Go up the ramp but turn to the right and jump into the vents.
- Go forward and take a picture of the weird lizard on the floor. Then have Pey'j cut the grate.
- Crawl through and see if you can find a partially destroyed grate at the end. Look through it to find another creature. Take a picture of it.
- Go through and drop down to the level below. Grab the PA.
- Go down to the docks and head back to the pedestrian district.
- Nothing much has changed. Just head upstairs to Peepers.
- Give him the code phrase and watch the shell with the ball. Pick the right one to get a ticket with the code to door three. It's different for each game. Just flip it over to see it.
- Use it to unlock the door and go into the closet. Press the button to have it swing around and put you into the IRIS Den.
- Take a picture of the cat-woman and then walk down. Seems that your first mission is a tough one. A lost agent, human trafficking, and corrupt soldiers.
- Talk to the people and grab the Mdisk Nino offers you. It has a full briefing if you want it.
