The letter was signed by a total of 41 U.S. Senators.
The auction, which was conducted via eBay, ended at 1PM EST on Friday, October 19, 2007 with a final bid of $2,100,100. Casey purchased the letter on behalf of the Eugene B. Casey Foundation of which she is a trustee. Limbaugh will match the donation.
The combined proceeds will benefit the U.S. Marine Corps - Law Enforcement Foundation.
