  • Beth Smith, the wife of professional golfer Chris Smith, was killed in a car accident near Angola, Indiana, on Sunday, June 21, 2009. Authorities say Mrs. Smith died when her SUV collided with a Greyhound bus on Interstate 69. The couple's two children, Abigail and Cameron Smith, were critically injured in the crash.

    According to reports, Beth Smith's sport utility vehicle slammed into a Greyhound bus carrying members of the London Silverbacks, a Canadian semipro football team. Smith had reportedly blown a tire just before she slammed head-on into the bus. Members of the Silverbacks pulled Smith's two children from the wreckage.
