Best Rap Album 2009 Grammys

Lil Wayne won the Rap Album of the Year for Tha Carter III at the 2009 Grammys which was broadcast on February 8, 2009. The other nominees for Rap Album of the Year included Jay-Z for American Ganster, Lupe Fiasco for The Cool, Nas for Untitled and T.I. for the album Paper Trail.

The 51st Grammy Awards were broadcast live on CBS from the Staples Center, which is located in Los Angels, California. Other highlights for the evening included musical performances. Eminem and Kayne West were ties with the most awards for this event. They each received three awards.
