Best Buy's Black Friday VIP contest began on November 2, 2009 and ended on November 20, 2009. Contestants were instructed to submit a 250 word essay on why they are excited about Black Friday. One person was be chosen from each of the 25 cities participating in the contest. The winners each received $1,000 Best Buy Gift Card, were driven to their local Best Buy in limousine and were given access to the store at 4:30 a.m. on Black Friday.
