Five films will competed for the Best Animated Film Award for the 2010 Academy Awards also known as the Oscars. "UP" was the winner.
The Academy awards are the most prized in the motion picture industry and awarded by the Academy of Motion Picture Art and Sciences. Once members of the Academy vote their choices from the nominees ballets, the votes are counted, and the winners are announced at the ceremony. Movie stars, producer, directors, and all those involved with the movie industry will turn out to the red carpet event. People from around the world watch on television to see the awards for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Direction, Best Screenplay, and other awards. The nominees and viewers wait for the presenters to tear into the envelope that holds the winning names.
The 2010 Academy Award ceremony will was televised live by ABC on March 7 and will had two hosts: Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin.http://oscar.go.com/ Along with the 25 awards there were live performances including the songs competing for the Best Original Song Award.
Of the five nominees for Best Animated Movie for 2010, two of the movies are competed in other awards. Up! is competed in Best Musical Score, Best Original Screen Play, Best Sound Editing, and Best Picture. The Award for Best Animated Film was added in 2001.
