Blogger and computer programmer Bernie Peng reprogrammed his girlfriend Tammy Li's favorite video game, Bejeweled, to offer her a marriage proposal when she reached a pre-set score. After he discussed the proposal on his blog, Xanga, the story quickly spread around the Internet.
Bejeweled, produced by PopCap Games, plans to provide 200 copies of the game as wedding favors for Peng and Li. They are also donating $1,000 to help with jewel themed decorations for the wedding and will fly the couple to Seattle for their honeymoon. They will be married Labor Day weekend 2008 at the Madison Hotel in Morristown, New Jersey.
