  • Bernice King is the daughter of civil rights activist Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. King will participate in a tribute to her late father prior to Barack Obama's speech on August 28, 2008, when he accepts the Democratic nomination for president. August 28 is also the 45th anniversary of the March on Washington and Martin Luther King's famous "I Have a Dream" speech. Bernice King was 5 months old when her father gave the speech.

    King spoke at the memorial service for the late pop music icon Michael Jackson at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on July 7, 2009.
