Directed by Robert Zemeckis, Beowulf is a 2007 action film based on the Old English epic poem, Beowulf. The film was created using a motion capture process, similar to the technique Zemeckis used in his 2004 film The Polar Express.

Synopsis
The film tells the story the legendary hero Beowulf. In Medieval Denmark King Hrothgar and his people are being terrorized by the horrific Grendel. Beowulf and his brave band of soldiers respond to a call to slay the monster. A mighty warrior, Beowulf quickly dispatches Grendel, but in doing so he enrages Grendel's mother. Setting out to kill to Grendel's mother as well he soon finds his resolve tested by great temptation. His choice ultimately brings about a new curse, one he must regret, until the day finally comes when he is given a chance for redemption.
