During the 2010 NBA All Star Game, Benny the Bull (mascot for the Chicago Bulls) performed a parody of the so-called "Single Ladies" dance, popularized in the Beyonce video for the song. Benny did the dance right in front of where rapper Jay-Z, Beyonce's husband, as well as rapper and mogul P Diddy, were seated. Neither man looked pleased or impressed with the performance. The moment was not televised by TNT, but later made it on to YouTube.
Other "Single Ladies" Performances
Choreographed routines set to the song "Single Ladies" have become something of an Internet staple since the release of the song "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" and accompanying video in October of 2008. The original videos' choreography was based on a routine choreographed by Bob Fosse and featuring dancer Gwen Verdon.
Some of the more notable "Single Ladies" take-offs include a send-up of the video on Saturday Night Live, featuring Justin Timberlake, a performance of the dance by football players on the TV series Glee, a mass performance of the dance by a flash mob in London's Piccadilly Circus and a highly proficient solo rendition by a dancer named Shane Mercado.
