    Green-Ellis began his college football career with the Indiana Hoosiers, where he was selected as a Sporting News Big Ten All-Freshman in 2003. Following his sophomore season, Green-Ellis transferred to the University of Mississippi, where he was red-shirted in 2005. He played two seasons with the Ole Miss Rebels, earning All-SEC honors in 2006 and 2007.
