Benjamin Wade describes himself as an "alpha male" and a "renaissance man." He has accomplished a variety of things, including conducting the Susanville symphony in California, holding the world record for longest solo kayak expedition and more. Not even one week after the season premiere of Survivor, Wade was fired from his job as the head coach of the Southwest Baptist University women's soccer team. The school maintains that Wade never informed them the reason why he took a leave of absence was to be on television and that he was only approved to take a week off.
