Bender's Big Score is a feature-length cartoon film continuing the story of the characters from the animated Fox television show Futurama. The film was never released in theaters, being released directly to DVD. The film features a group of alien criminals who reprogram Bender (the profligate robot and protagonist of Futurama) to steal priceless artifacts from the past by traveling back in time to acquire them. Fry, another of the three main characters, has time-traveling escapades of his own, and they both learn that time travel comes with a price.
As Seen on Comedy Central
By the time Bender's Big Score was released, Futurama had already been canceled for years and in reruns on Cartoon Network, then Comedy Central. Even so, it was not long after the film's initial release that Comedy Central began airing it as a series of 4 half-hour episodes of Futurama. Since it will be followed by 3 more films that will likely be similarly aired, many have speculated that the show will be officially revived for a sixth season that will air on Comedy Central.
