Bender

Bender is a foul-mouthed, alcoholic, chain-smoking robot on the animated television series Futurama. Bender works for the Planet Express delivery company and lives with his best friend and co-worker, Philip J. Fry. Notoriously selfish, Bender only looks out for himself, except for rare occasions when he shows brief and grudging kindness toward his friends. Bender is also a compulsive thief and will steal virtually anything from anyone.

Bender needs to drink alcohol in order to keep his fuel cells charged. When he does not drink, he exhibits symptoms similar to human drunkenness.

Although he has no sense of taste and is a horrible cook, Bender is an aspiring chef and occasionally acts as the Planet Express Ship's cook, much to the dismay of his fellow crew members.

Bender's secret dream to become a folk singer is evidenced when he bursts into song when a magnet contacts his body.
