Ben Teague

Ben Teague was a retired teacher and employee at Union Carbide Corporation who ran a small translation and editing business in Athens, Georgia. He spent many of his weekends beginning in the 1980s working with the Town and Gown Players in Athens. On April 25, 2009, authorities allege he was shot and killed by George M. Zinkhan III.

Shooting at the Theatre

Ben Teague was a regular set designer and player for the Town and Gown Players, and on April 25, 2009, he was at an honorary luncheon for the group at the Athens Community Theatre.AJC: UGA professor suspected in deadly Athens shooting (April 25, 2009)

Among the people dining at the lunch was Marie Bruce, president of the Town and Gown Players, and Tom Tanner, who was currently playing Dr. Watson in a performance of Sherlock Holmes by the troupe. Witnesses say that Marie Bruce's husband, George M.
