    Although he was not formally charged with any crimes, Ben Stevens was implicated in a federal corruption investigation involving several other state officials. Bill Allen, former president of Alaska oil company Veco Corporation, testified that he paid "State Senator B" (believed to be a reference to Ben Stevens) nearly $250,000 in bribes.
