Ben Shenkman is an American actor who has worked in movies, TV shows and plays. His TV career began in the 1993 season of Law & Order, but didn't take off until his performance as Louis Ironson in the 2003 HBO adaptation of Tony Kushner's play Angels in America, a role that earned him both Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. Shenkman's film career has included a lead role in 1999's 30 Days, and small parts in Quiz Show, Eraser and The Siege, as well as two films by director Darren Aronofsky—1998's π (Film|π and 2000's Requiem for a Dream. Though Shenkman has played a number of gay roles, including the 2007 film Breakfast With Scot, he is straight himself, and has been married since 2005 to Lauren Greilsheimer. Shenkman plays a principal role in the program Canterbury's Law.
