Ben Lovejoy is a National Hockey League (NHL) defenseman for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Ben Lovejoy was born in Concord, New Hampshire on February 20, 1984. One of three sons born to Carl and Cari Lovejoy, he grew up in a family of athletes. His father played hockey for Colby College, while his mother was an All-American lacrosse player at UMass. Ben Lovejoy spent most of the 2008-09 season playing for the Wilkes-Barre Penguins in the AHL. In 76 games, he posted 31 points on seven goals and 24 assists.
