Ben Heppner was born in January, 1956 in British Columbia. Heppner is a well known Canadian Operatic Tenor who has been recording since 1984.
Heppner graduated from the University of British Columbia and came to national focus when he won Canadian Broadcasting Competition ("CBC") "Talent Festival" in 1979.
Heppner is a world renowned Opera Singer and regularly performs for opera companies throughout the USA and Europe. For services to Canadian Opera, Heppner has received in 1988 the Birgit Nilsson prize, in 1999 the order of Canada, in 2002 an Officer of Canada and in 2008 a Companion of Canada.
A highlight in Heppner's career came on February 28, 2010 when Heppner performed live at the Vancouver Olympics Closing Ceremony at the BC Place Stadium.
