  • American born professional hockey player Ben Clymer most recently played for the Washington Capitals in the National Hockey League. Clymer was waived by the Capitals on June 25, 2008.
  • NHL Career

    Clymer was drafted 27th overall in the 1997 NHL draft by the Boston Bruins. He played one season with the Seattle Thunderbirds in the Western Hockey League before signing as a free agent with the Tampa Bay Lightning on October 2, 1999. Clymer helped the Lightning capture the 2004 Stanley Cup Championship, then played with the EHC Biel-Bienne in Switzerland during the 2004-05 NHL lockout. On August 8, 2005, he signed as a free agent with the Washington Capitals. Clymer spent two seasons with the Capitals before he was assigned to the Hershey Bears in the AHL for the entire 2007-08 season.
