Bells Palsy

Bells Palsy is a condition caused by trauma to the 7th cranial nerve, which leads to temporary paralysis on one side of the face. Named after Scottish surgeon Sir Charles Bell, the condition affects about 0.02 percent of the global population.NINDS: Charles Bell

Bell's Palsy Sufferers

Onset of Bell's Palsy happens very quickly. Often people wake up to find themselves afflicted or begin with tingling around their mouth or a dry eye that leads to Bell's Palsy during the same day. Usually paralysis peaks within a few days, it unusual for the condition to last for more than 2 weeks. Around 50 percent of Bell's Palsy victims will have complete recoveries after a relatively short time. A further 35 percent will have a good recovery in under a year.
