The Bellanca 8KCAB is the model number of the plane Bellanca Super Decathlon, which was developed from the Bellanca Citabria plane. It is the type of plane Steve Fossett was flying at the time of his disappearance. The Bellanca 8KCAB Super Dethalon is a small two-set conventional gear light plane. The Dethalon planes were developed in the 1970s by the Champion Aircraft Corporation. Production was taken over by Bellanca Aircraft Corporation and then later by another company called American Champion Aircraft Corporation.
