Bella Swan moved from Phoenix, Arizona, to Forks, Washington, to live with her father Charlie Swan. Once there, she began attending Forks High School where she met Edward Cullen, a mysterious boy who she couldn't stop thinking about.Twilight Lexicon: Isabella SwanBella was baffled by Edward's reaction towards her, but it didn't stop her from thinking he was "beautiful." Bella's Relationship with Jacob Black
When Bella was a child, her family used to fish with Jacob Black's family. The two of them reconnected when she moved back to Forks. They became friends, but it wasn't until New Moon that Jacob developed a more prominent place in Bella's life. He became her lifeline after Edward moved away.
